THE TOY STORY BIRTHDAY PARTY!

Sylus's birthday party was a blast! The only thing that could have made it perfect was that all of our family could have been there to enjoy it too!

I have to say, all his presents he got were pretty cool. He got a lawn mower (to help him walk), a Yo Gabba Gabba DVD, some really cute moccasins, winter hats & gloves, a little dump truck, a Toy Story and Puff the Magic Dragon book and a noisy, fun guitar from mommy and daddy.

He also got the whole character set of Toy Story from our friend Dan.

A Gap snowsuit from Laura and Silas.

A gigantic roaring Rex (from Toy Story) from our friend Skyler.

Some comfy PJs from Trish, Peter and baby Peter.

A Toy Story dinner set from Sophea and Steven.

And he even got some specially mailed presents for a special boy from his Grandparents.

An ASU hoodie and Superman PJs from my Mom.

And some outfits, toys and books from Brent's parents as well.

Nevertheless, I have to say my son made off pretty well on his first birthday, haha!

He even got to eat cake a second time!

Mommy even made him a special cake just for his birthday. This was my first attempt ever at trying to make a character on a birthday cake.. I think I did pretty well, not to toot my own horn or anything. :)

 This cake was for the adults though, it was way too sugary for my liking. I know Sy would thing otherwise, but I try to keep the sugar to a limit for him!

I still can't believe he's one! My little man.. all grown up! Haha.

He is the best thing that has ever happened to me and I know his daddy would agree too.

SYLUS IS ONE!

I can't believe today is the day.. my little baby is already a year old!

Tonight we are having a little birthday dinner and cake with a few friends. And tomorrow is the big party. Toy Story themed! I can't wait for it. I wish all my family was here for it too though. :(

Sy gets to eat cake today. I don't ever let him have sweets.. but today is his big day! I made him a little round yellow cake about 4 inches in diameter with cool whip frosting (I didn't want him to have the super sugary kind) and sprinkles! And guess what.. the little man gets to have another cake all to himself tomorrow!

Oh how he loooved his birthday cake!

We let him open a couple presents, but the rest are for his exciting party tomorrow!

Halloween & Fall

Halloween was pretty fun this year. We had a little get together at our place with some of our friends. It was Sylus' 1st Halloween and he was a little dinosaur!!

He was oh-so-cute in his outfit crawling around. (He can now crawl on his hands and knees!) I tried to take him trick or treating but I guess in Kansas there are "hours of operation" for trick or treating. It was so upsetting! They only trick or treat out here from 5pm-7pm. And we went out at 6:45pm and no one was really out anymore, so I missed out on taking him trick or treating for the first time, I was pretty bummed!
We did however go to a Haunted House on Post. It was my first time ever going to a Haunted House that I can remember. Yes, we took Sylus! He wasn't even scared!! The only part I think that bothered him was the rooms with strobe lights. So I just covered his eyes in those rooms. He came out of the Haunted House with a smile on his face. My friends were all shocked! That's my boy!!!

All in all, our party the day before Halloween was fun, and of course our boy wasn't scared of us when we were dressed up as 80's zombies!

Haha! Halloween was a bummer without the trick or treating, but the Haunted House made up for it. It wasn't the best Haunted House but it was something Halloween-ish to do.

Now we're waiting for Thanksgiving. It's going to be weird without all our family. I actually have to make all the Thanksgiving food. Weird! A friend of mine is making the Turkey though, so that's cool.

It's so different being out here. It's fall and becoming winter quick! Just the other day it snowed during the night!! Not enough for it to stick to the ground though. The leaves are all changed, oranges, yellows, reds and even some purples! I like that that, but not snow!
